Born Again Update: Massive Changes, Projectiles, and New Features Available Now
On January 23, 2026, the highly anticipated "Born Again" update for Born Again was released, introducing a flood of new features, balancing changes, and quality-of-life improvements for all players.
The new version transforms the core combat loop with a complete item projectile rework, meaning all weapon basic attacks now shoot projectiles instead of slashes. This change is coupled with the removal of all enemy attack indicators, adding a new layer of challenge and excitement to the battle against the ominous Overlords of the Outer Realm.
A significant overhaul of the progression and customization systems is also a major part of this update. The game now features Crystal Paths, a new skill tree system offering permanent stat bonuses. Additionally, Blessings have been revamped, dropping from shrines with three choices and a fully upgraded cap of 8.
Several quality-of-life changes have been implemented. The Map discovery system has been revamped to discover in chunks automatically, and the Overlord Gates mechanic now replaces realm sealing, requiring a meter fill to spawn locked gates. Other notable changes include the return of food items like Dragonfruit, Peaches, and Bananas, and the addition of food-dropping barrels to destroy.
On the character and item front, classes have received stat reworks, and Shaolin classes have switched to Robes while Warrior classes now use Armor. The Honor shop has been relocated next to Geridge in the Spirit Realm. Players can also look forward to new features like a Pet Sanctuary for saving pets, tradable backpacks, and the introduction of the Plains biome boss: Bhognin.
For those looking for a bargain, a Pet Bundle is now available for 2000 Medallions, containing 11 traditional pets. Creator Codes are now usable when purchasing Medallions, and a refreshed tutorial with the option to skip is also included.
